Contest Period: November 22, 2024 – January 10, 2025

Draw Date: January 14, 2024

The Jiffy Lube Grande Prairie Highlands Oilers Giveaway (the “Contest”) begins on November 22, 2024 at 12:00 PM Mountain Time and ends on January 10, 2025 at 6:00 PM Mountain Time (the “Contest Period”).

By participating in this Contest, you are signifying your agreement that you have read and agree to be legally bound by these Official Contest Rules (the “Rules”).

ELIGIBILITY:

The Contest is only open to residents of Alberta who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry, except employees, representatives or agents (the “Sponsor”), its affiliates, prize suppliers, advertising/promotion agencies and any other individual or entity involved in the development, production, administration, or fulfillment of the Contest (collectively, the “Contest Parties”).

HOW TO ENTER:

 1. With Purchase:

To enter:

  • Participants are to visit the Jiffy Lube Highland location in Grande Prairie, mention the Jiffy Lube Grande Prairie Highland Oilers Giveaway (the “Contest”), and receive a full synthetic oil change.
  • Once you have completed all of the foregoing steps to enter (as determined by the Sponsor in its sole and absolute discretion), you will be eligible to receive one (1) entry (an “Entry”).
  • Canceled or refunded orders are ineligible.

2. No Purchase Necessary:

  • There is NO PURCHASE NECESSARY to participate. A purchase does not increase your chances of winning.
  • To obtain a free entry (“Entry”), participants can send a handwritten letter with their full name, address, phone number, and email address and a sentence describing “Why I want to enter the Contest” on a piece of paper (8.5” x 11”) to:

Jiffy Lube Highland, 9514 – 100 St, Grande Prairie, AB, T8V 2L1 (a “Mail-in Request”). To be eligible, your Mail-in Request must be postmarked and received during the Contest Period. No mechanical reproductions are permitted, and each Mail-in Request must be mailed in a separate envelope bearing sufficient postage (e.g. mass Mail-in Requests in the same envelope will be void). Mail-In Requests become the property of the Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned. If your eligible Mail-in Request is received in accordance with these Rules (as determined by the Sponsor in its sole and absolute discretion), you will be eligible to receive one (1) Entry.

ENTRY LIMIT:

One (1) letter per person is allowed during the contest period, for a total of one (1) Entry.

The Sponsor will not verify whether or not a No Purchase Necessary letter has been received or counted as an Entry.

Incomplete, corrupted, or untimely entries are void and will be disqualified. Sponsor and its agencies are not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, damaged, stolen, or misdirected entries; lost, interrupted, or unavailable mail delivery; or miscommunications, computer or software malfunctions, telephone transmission problems, technical failures, garbled transmissions, damage to a user’s computer equipment (software or hardware), or other errors or malfunctions of any kind, whether human, mechanical, electronic, or otherwise. Proof of submission will not be deemed to be proof of receipt by Sponsor. In the event of a dispute as to the identity of an entrant, the authorized account holder of the email address indicated on the Entry used to enter will be deemed to be the entrant or participant. The “authorized account holder” is the natural person assigned to an email address by an Internet access provider, online service provider, Internet service provider, or other organization (which may include an employer) responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted address. Potential winners may be required to show proof of being the authorized account holder. Entries specifying an invalid, non-working, or inactive email address will be disqualified and ineligible to win.

VERIFICATION:

All Entries and entrants are subject to verification at any time and for any reason. The Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to require proof of identity and/or eligibility (in a form acceptable to the Sponsor – including, without limitation, government issued photo identification): (i) for the purposes of verifying an individual’s eligibility to participate in this Contest; (ii) for the purposes of verifying the eligibility and/or legitimacy of any Entry or any other information submitted (or purportedly submitted) for the purposes of this Contest; and/or (iii) for any other reason the Sponsor deems necessary, in its sole and absolute discretion, for the purposes of administering this Contest in accordance with these Rules. Failure to provide such proof to the complete satisfaction of the Sponsor within the timeline specified by the Sponsor may result in disqualification in the sole and absolute discretion of the Sponsor. The sole determinant of the time for the purposes of this Contest will be the Contest server machine(s).

PRIZE DESCRIPTION:

Prize: One (1) winner (“Winner”) will receive:

Two (2) tickets to an upcoming Edmonton Oilers home game in Edmonton for the 2025 regular season.

Tickets will be transferred to the Winner using the Ticketmaster mobile application.

Ticket Access Requirements – The winner will receive their two Edmonton Oilers tickets via the Ticketmaster mobile app. To claim and use the prize, the winner must have access to a mobile device capable of downloading and running the Ticketmaster app, along with a phone connection that includes data to display the tickets at the event. Jiffy Lube is not responsible for any inability to attend the concert due to lack of access to these required technologies.

Prize package admission is subject to the terms and conditions of the event host and of the host venue, which must be accepted as awarded and is not transferable, assignable or convertible to cash (except as may be specifically permitted by Sponsor in its sole and absolute discretion). No substitutions except at the Sponsor’s option. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to substitute any of this prizing or a component thereof with a prize of equal or greater retail value, including, without limitation, but at Sponsor’s sole and absolute discretion, a cash award. All costs not expressly indicated above as forming part of this prizing are the applicable confirmed winner’s sole responsibility; without limiting the generality of the foregoing, entrant is solely responsible for all transportation as well as any meals, incidental charges as part of the hotel accommodation, or other purchases. All characteristics and features of this prizing, except as otherwise explicitly described above, are at the Sponsor’s sole and absolute discretion. The Released Parties (defined below) will be in no way responsible in the event that any part of the event is delayed, cancelled, postponed or rescheduled for any reason whatsoever. Without limiting any of the foregoing, the following additional terms and conditions apply to the prize: (i) the confirmed winner (and his/her guest(s), as applicable) must have all necessary documentation to permit participation in the prize (including without limitation any required government issued identification, valid proof of vaccine or exemption documentation), failing which he/she may, in the sole and absolute discretion of the Sponsor, be disqualified (and, if disqualified, will forfeit all rights to the prize); (ii) the Released Parties (defined below) are not responsible for any delay, postponement, suspension, rescheduling or cancellation of any aspect of the prize, for any reason (including without limitation, if fulfilment of the prize, or any part thereof, is rendered impossible, infeasible, unsafe or impractical for any reason, including without limitation due to illness or health risks, or any governmental or health authority orders, measures, directives or guidance in response to such illness or risks, or due to any pandemic-related law, regulation, order, policy, guideline, strike, travel restriction, venue policy, restriction, or other cause of any kind or nature whatsoever), and for greater certainty are not obligated to offer any compensation and/or substitute prizing as a result; and (iii) by participating in the prize, the confirmed winner (and each of his/her guest(s) as applicable): (a) signifies that he/she understands, acknowledges and accepts that participation in the prize may involve danger and/or exposure to risks and hazards (including without limitation as may be due to the nature of the prize), whether arising from foreseeable or unforeseeable human error and negligence, and that, as a result, he/she may suffer damage to personal property, serious personal injury, illness or even death; (b) signifies that he/she acknowledges and agrees that the Released Parties (defined below) have not made any warranties, guarantees or representations about his/her safety while participating in the prize; and (c) warrants and represents that he/she has evaluated the nature, scope, and extent of the risks involved, and freely and voluntarily agree and assume any and all risks of personal injury, illness, death arising out of or connected with his/her participation in the prize.

Winner and travel companion are responsible for their own travel, accommodation, and obtaining travel insurance (and all other forms of insurance) at their option and hereby acknowledge that Sponsor has not and will not obtain or provide travel insurance or any other form of insurance.

The Sponsor is not responsible for the Winner’s inability to attend the event due to travel, personal, accommodation, or illness-related issues.

SPONSOR SHALL HAVE NO LIABILITY FOR ANY PERSONAL INJURIES, DEATH, PROPERTY DAMAGE, OR OTHER DAMAGES OR EXPENSES RESULTING FROM OR ARISING OUT OF USE OF PRIZE/TRAVEL OR ANY OTHER ASPECT OF A PRIZE WINNER’S OR TRAVEL COMPANION’S ACCEPTANCE OR USE OF THE PRIZE.

PRIZE WINNER SELECTION AND NOTIFICATION:

The winner will be chosen via a random draw from eligible Entries on January 14, 2024, at Sponsor’s location.

The odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible Entries received, in accordance with these Rules during the Contest Period.

The Sponsor or its designated representative will make a minimum of one (1) attempt via email and/or phone to contact the Prize winner (using the contact information provided at the time of Entry). If a potential Prize winner cannot be contacted within 48 hours of the first email notification (the “Email Notification”), or if there is a return of any notification as undeliverable; then he/she may, in the sole and absolute discretion of the Sponsor, be disqualified (and, if disqualified, will forfeit all rights to the Prize) and the Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion and time permitting, to select an alternate potential Prize winner following the same winner selection procedure described above (with the necessary amendments), in which case the foregoing provisions of this section shall apply to such new potential Prize winner.

WINNER CONFIRMATION PROCESS:

BEFORE BEING DECLARED A CONFIRMED PRIZE WINNER, each potential Prize winner will be required to: (a) provide proof of identity, age and residency; (b) correctly answer a mathematical skill-testing question without mechanical or other aid (which may, in the sole and absolute discretion of the Sponsor, be administered online, by email or other electronic means, by telephone, or in the Sponsor’s form of declaration and release); and (c) sign and return within 48 hours of the date & time stamp of the Email Notification, which (among other things): (i) confirms compliance with these Rules; (ii) acknowledges acceptance of the Prize (as awarded); (iii) releases the Contest Parties, and their affiliates and each of their respective officers, directors, employees, agents, representatives, successors and assigns (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from any and all liability in connection with this Contest, his/her participation therein and/or the awarding and use/misuse of the Prize or any portion thereof. If the potential Prize winner: (a) fails to complete and submit the properly executed Release Form within the specified time; (b) cannot accept (or is unwilling to accept) the Prize (as awarded) for any reason; (c) fails to correctly answer the skill-testing question; and/or (d) is determined to be in violation of these Rules (all as determined by the Sponsor in its sole and absolute discretion); then he/she may, in the sole and absolute discretion of the Sponsor, be disqualified (and, if disqualified, will forfeit all rights to the Prize) and the Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion and time permitting, to select an alternate potential Prize winner following the same winner selection procedure described above (with the necessary amendments), in which case the foregoing provisions of this section shall apply to such new potential Prize winner. The Sponsor will have final discretion in selecting the winner in the event of a tie or for any other reason. The Prize winner will receive their prize at the email provided at the time of entry.

GENERAL CONDITIONS:

All Entries become the property of the Sponsor. The Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to withdraw, amend or suspend this Contest (or to amend these Rules) in any way, in the event of any cause beyond the reasonable control of the Sponsor that interferes with the proper conduct of this Contest as contemplated by these Rules, including, without limitation, any error, technical problem, computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud or technical failure.

By entering this Contest, each entrant expressly consents to the Sponsor, its agents and/or representatives, storing, sharing and using the personal information submitted with his/her Entry only for the purpose of administering the Contest and in accordance with the Sponsor’s privacy policy (available at: https://jiffylubeservice.ca/privacy-policy/ ).

This section does not limit any other consent(s) that an individual may provide the Sponsor or others in relation to the collection, use and/or disclosure of their personal information.
